Invocation
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise!
Out of the depths we cry to you, O Lord.
Lord, hear our voice and let your ears be attentive to our cry.
If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
who could stand.
But with you there is forgiveness.
Therefore you are feared.
We wait for the Lord.
Our souls wait for the Lord and we put our hope in your word.
Our souls wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for morning,
more than watchmen wait for morning.
O church,
o nation,
o family,
o friends,
put your hope in the Lord!
For with Him is unfailing love
and with Him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem us from all of our sins.
Confession
We praise you this morning as a people in need
of your mercy,
your grace,
your peace,
your forgiveness.
Intercession
We pray for those in authority over us.
Those who have to make such difficult decisions
day in and day out.
May you grant them wisdom
and strength of character.
May they be guided by your Holy Spirit
and your Word.
We pray for those around us.
For the churches around us who are worshipping you this morning.
We ask that you would
fill them with people,
fill them with love,
fill them with your Spirit.
that you might be seen,
that your glory would come as in the ancient days
and people would be in awe of you.
We ask that for us here too.
We ask for your gift of illumination,
that your Word would open our eyes
as we open our souls to you.
We pray this in the name of our Lord and Saviour,Jesus Christ. Amen
